General Description
Body grey with brown patches, dark wings and a long tail. Underneath white with faint black marks. Bill wide and white-cream. Body up to 60 cm long.
Biology
These cuckoos breed in Australia and then fly to New Guinea and Indonesia for the winter months. They feed mainly on insects and fruit but sometimes eat young birds and eggs.
Distribution
Papua New Guinea. Northern and eastern mainland Australia.
Habitat
Open forests and woodlands, occasionally urban areas.
