General Description
Body dark grey-brown streaked with white, abdomen yellow. White patch below the eye. Red, circular flap of skin (wattle) hanging from the side of the face. Body up to 37 cm long.
Biology
Male Red Wattlebirds call with a loud cackle, like a cough. Females respond with a whistle.
Distribution
Southern mainland Australia
Habitat
Urban areas, forests and open woodlands.
