General Description
Body dark grey with abdomen, base and tip of tail white. Crescent-shaped white patch on wing (visible in flight). Body up to 50 cm long.
Biology
Pied Currawongs breed in uplands in spring and summer before migrating to lowlands in autumn and winter. They mainly eat fruit and invertebrates but also feed on small vertebrates, including young birds and bird eggs.
Distribution
Eastern mainland Australia.
Habitat
Wet forests in mountain areas, urban parks and gardens.
