General Description
Male: upper body parts and face dark grey; forehead, wing stripes and outer tail white; underparts mostly pink-red. Females and young birds: brown bodies with cream stripes on the wings. Body up to 15 cm long.
Biology
Flame Robins breed in spring and summer in highland areas. They then migrate to more southern areas in autumn and winter.
Distribution
South-eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Foothills and high country in grasslands, pastures and woodlands.
