General Description
Body dark brown with small yellow or white spots on the side, white underneath. Body dark grey-brown to black with small yellow or white spots on the side. Yellow ridge from eye to top of arm. Throat pinkish-grey and white on belly underneath. Large eyes and a vertical pupil. Up to 10 cm long. Call: like owls, a high pitched "oo-oo-oo".
Biology
Giant Burrowing Frogs burrow in the banks of creeks. They can be heard calling from these burrows.
Distribution
South-eastern mainland Australia.
Habitat
Wet and dry forests, as well as woodlands.
