General Description
Body pale grey, brown or yellow with dark patches; belly mainly white. Pale stripe along the middle of the back and small wart lumps over the body. One or more small, usually rounded, black lumps at the base of the foot (metatarsal tubercles). Pupils vertical. Up to 5 cm long.
Biology
Painted Frogs usually shelter in burrows, emerging to breed in the summer near lagoons, ponds and temporary floodplains.
Distribution
South-eastern mainland Australia.
Habitat
Mallee, arid and semi-arid areas.
