General Description
Body yellow-brown to grey-brown with tail tip red-orange. Up to 14 cm long (snout-vent).
Biology
Red-tailed Worm-lizards shelter in ant nests, in debris on the ground and in tree stumps. They raise their colourful tails into the air when threatened.
Distribution
Isolated populations across southern mainland Australia.
Habitat
Dry areas of mallees, woodlands and sandy regions.
