General Description
Body fur brown to grey-brown, paler underneath. Ears with white projections (tragus). Raised forehead. Wingspan up to 15 cm, body up to 5 cm.
Biology
Little Forest Bats hunt flying insects. They become inactive in winter (torpor) to save energy. They are the smallest species of bat in Australia and could fit inside a matchbox.
Distribution
South-eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Forest and woodland areas.
