General Description
Body fur colour varies, red-brown with white spots and black near tail (summer male), or grey-brown (winter male), sometimes entirely black. Ears pointed. Antlers with numerous side branches, flattened in older individuals. Body up to 1.7 m long.
Biology
Fallow Deer feed on soft grasses and herbs.
Distribution
Scattered populations in mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Edges of cleared land and plantations.
