General Description
Body fur dark grey-black, cream or yellow/orange underneath. Ears short, black and rounded. Tail long, thick, prehensile and black. Body up to 54 cm, tail up to 37 cm.
Biology
Mountain Brushtail Possums spend more time on the ground than most other possums. They feed on ground plants and sleep in fallen logs as well as tree hollows.
Distribution
South-eastern mainland Australia.
Habitat
Forests and woodlands on ranges and coastal plains above 300 m elevation.
