General Description
Body wide and oval shaped, with a narrow abdomen. Two antennae at the front of the head. Up to 5 mm long.
Biology
Cyclops Copepods swim by sweeping their antennae back and forth in a rowing motion. The females carry eggs in two bunches that hang on either side of the abdomen. The adults live for a few months.
Distribution
Worldwide. Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Near the bottom of streams, ponds and wetlands.
