Body narrow with long mid and rear legs separated from the shorter front legs. Body up to 2 cm long.
Biology
Water Striders are predators that eat small animals trapped by the surface tension of the water. They can skate across the water surface and often form small groups.
Distribution
Worldwide. Eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
On the surface of ponds and small streams.
