General Description
Oval-shaped body. Eyes round and bulging, one on each side of the head. Up to 1 cm long.
Biology
Screech Beetles move about by walking, but they are able to swim by moving their legs back and forth. They are predators and eat other invertebrates.
Distribution
Worldwide. Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Still water including ponds, dams and wetlands.
