General Description
Body oval-shaped, short and wide. Up to 2 cm long.
Biology
Water Pennies are well-camouflaged and not often seen. While the larvae are fully aquatic, they leave the water to pupate and adults are terrestrial. An adult Water Penny's lifespan is approximately 2 months, which it will spend in the vegetation along stream banks. The female lays her eggs under the water.
Distribution
Eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.

Near streams.
