General Description
Body cylindrical, legs long with hairs. Two tails at the end of the abdomen on many species. Up to 1 cm long.
Biology
Diving Beetle larvae have strong, biting mouthparts that are used to eat aquatic invertebrates, small fish and tadpoles.
Distribution
Worldwide. Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
On the bottom of streams.
