General Description
Body has feathery gills along the side of a cylindrical abdomen. There are four hooks at the end of the abdomen. Body up to 1 cm long.
Biology
Whirligig Beetle larvae are predatory, eating small invertebrates.
Distribution
Worldwide. Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
On the bottom of streams, among debris or vegetation.
