General Description
Shell a spiral (coiled), shaped into either a long pointed end (spire) or into a flattened coil. Shell up to 3 cm across.
Biology
Freshwater Snails are herbivores, eating algae scraped from the surface of live plants or rocks. Their shells are thinner than those of marine snails.
Distribution
Worldwide. Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Slow-flowing water, among debris or on aquatic plants.
