General Description
Body cylindrical and narrow, with segments. Colour varies, including red, brown or black. Up to 5 cm long.
Biology
Freshwater Segmented Worms are hermaphrodites, having both male and female reproductive parts. Some species are able to survive in very poor environmental conditions, such as polluted waterways and sewers. Many species are less than 1 cm long.
Distribution
Worldwide. Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Wet soil, sediment of freshwater areas.
