General Description
Body black and shiny with lines along the wing cases (elytra). Jaws small. Body up to 2 cm long.
Biology
Darkling Beetles live on the ground in leaf litter and under rocks, bark or fallen logs. They are active at night and feed on dead plant and fungal matter.
Distribution
South-eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Forests, woodlands, heaths and urban areas.
