General Description
Body oval shape and dark brown. Legs narrow with spines. Larva: cream with red head. Body up to 2 cm long.
Biology
Red-headed Pasture Cockchafers fly from August to October and again in late January. They are attracted to lights. Their larvae live in the soil, feeding on the roots of plants. The life-cycle takes two years.
Distribution
South-eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Grassland, lawns and golf courses.
