Diphucephala, Green Scarab Beetle

General Description

Body oval shape and shiny green. Body up to 1 cm long.

Biology

Green Scarab Beetles are active during the day and can occur in huge numbers on vegetation. They are capable of defoliating trees. The larvae live in soil and feed on plant roots.

Distribution

South-western and eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.

Habitat

On flowering plants.
