General Description
Body gold-brown with mid-body (thorax) narrower than the wing cases (elytra). Eyes wrap around the bases of the antennae. Larva: dark brown and hairy, with a pair of hooks on the rear end. Body up to 2 cm long.
Biology
Honeybrown Beetles feed on dead plant and fungal matter. Adults are slow fliers.
Distribution
South-eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Forests, woodlands, heaths and urban areas.
