Harmonia conformis (Boisduval, 1835), Common Spotted Ladybird

General Description

Body dome-shaped, round, shiny and orange with black spots. Body up to 1 cm long.

Biology

These ladybirds eat aphids and scale insects, acting as biological control agents to remove unwanted insects that damage plants.

Distribution

South-western and eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.

Habitat

On vegetation.
