Biology
Gumtree Hoppers suck sap from young twigs and branches of eucalypts, wattles and she-oaks. They usually feed in groups and excrete large quantities of honeydew, which attracts ants and leads to the growth of black-grey mould. Adults fly and jump if disturbed; young nymphs run behind stems for protection.
Distribution
Eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Sclerophyll forests and urban gardens.
