General Description
Body green, flattened side to side with triangular wings. Nymph (young planthopper) has a white wax covering and a tuft of white hair on the tip of the abdomen. Body up to 1 cm long.
Biology
Green Planthoppers feed in groups on native and exotic trees and shrubs. Adults look like a row of green thorns on the plant. They jump actively if disturbed.
Distribution
Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
In woodlands and urban areas.
