General Description
Body flat, red-brown with a distinct yellow border around head area (pronotum) and yellow streaks on the forewings. Long antennae. Body up to 4 cm long.
Biology
Australian Cockroaches feed on decaying vegetable matter and can fly short distances in warm weather. Nymphs may take 6-12 months to reach adulthood; adults seem to live for 4-8 months.
Distribution
Eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Warm, dark, moist areas, including gardens, under bark, leaf litter and in buildings.
