General Description
Abdomen brown with blue-black marking. Buzzing sound produced when flying. Body up to 1 cm long.
Biology
Lesser Brown Blowflies are attracted to light and are often found on window sills in houses. Females lay eggs or release live maggots (larvae) onto food such as dead animal carcasses or dung.
Distribution
Eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Urban areas.
