General Description
Body and wings are narrow; legs are long and narrow. Body up to 3 cm long.
Biology
Crane Flies are sometimes mistaken for mosquitoes. They feed on plants and fly slowly. Larvae usually live in wet soil or decaying plant matter.
Distribution
South-western and eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Swamp areas, grasslands and along banks of streams.
