General Description
Body green to black with red-brown eyes. Body up to 1 cm long.
Biology
Australian Sheep Blowflies breed on sheep, causing "fly-strike". They lay eggs in the dirty wool at the rear of the sheep and the maggots (larvae) that hatch feed on damaged skin.
Distribution
Worldwide. Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Farmland.
