General Description
Body can be iridescent green or brown. Body up to 2 cm.
Biology
All the species in this family (Tachinidae) are parasitic on other insects and their relatives. This helps to control populations of many groups, including moths, butterflies, grasshoppers and beetles. The larvae of all the flies in this genus are parasitic on scarab beetle larvae.
Distribution
Eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
