General Description
Body black and yellow with a long thin waist. Body up to 3 cm long.
Biology
Common Mud-daubers make a high-pitched buzzing sound as they build a nest made up of covered rows of mud cells. The adults feed mainly on nectar, but they catch, paralyse and place spiders inside the nest cells to feed their young (larvae).
Distribution
Western and eastern mainland Australia.
Habitat
Urban areas.
