General Description
Shell smooth, sometimes with thin curved growth lines. Pattern varies, usually white or cream with zigzag markings. Shell up to 5 cm long.
Biology
Dog Cockle shells often wash-up along sandy beaches in large numbers. They live buried in sand and filter feed using their siphons, which they extend above the surface.
Distribution
South-eastern Australia.
Habitat
Subtidal sand areas.
