General Description
Body covered by dense, brown hairs. Carapace rounded. Eye stalks orange and parts of legs blue. Up to 8 cm wide (carapace).
Biology
Bristled Sponge-crabs wear "hats", placing sponges or ascidians on top of their body to camouflage themselves against the reef.
Distribution
Southern Australian coast, except Tasmania.
Habitat
Reef and jetties, to depth of 80 m.
