General Description
Shell conical with 7-8 spiral turns (whorls). Colour pale brown with brown stripes. Shell up to 2 cm long.
Biology
Small Pointed Snails are an agricultural pest, causing severe damage to a variety of agricultural crops. They were introduced from the Mediterranean and first reported from Mt Gambier, South Australia, in 1921.
Distribution
Europe. North America. New Zealand. Southern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Coastal dune heath, tussock grassland, gardens, pasture and farm areas.
