General Description

Body light grey to red-brown, pale white-yellow to pink-orange underneath. Lips with dark vertical stripes and adjacent scales with white edges. Up to 1.2 m long.

Biology

Highland Copperheads feed on frogs, lizards and small mammals. Females give birth to up to 30 live young in mid to late summer.

Distribution

South-eastern mainland Australia.

Habitat

Damp areas at high altitude.
