Rock Description
A very fine grained, almost glassy, black rock containing phenocrysts of light grey anorthoclase, blackish-green olivine and black augite. Kenyte is a variety of porphyritic phonolite or trachyte with rhomb shaped phenocrysts of anorthoclase with variable olivine and augite in a glassy matrix.
