Summary

This is the first trout caught in Victoria. "This fish is one of a number of fry placed in Riddells Creek 18 months since. July 1870". The specimen was originally sent to the Public Library by the Acclimatisation Society of Victoria, and was subsequently exhibited at the International Exhibition in 1872. It was transferred to the National Museum of Victoria on 16 Sept 1897.
