Thrale and Cross was a retail business in Howard Street, North Melbourne in the mid-1850s. It had trade tokens designed by medalist J. Taylor and made in Melbourne by the Kangaroo Mint. The token describes the business as a 'Family Grocer' and 'Egg Powder Store'.

The business was listed in the Melbourne Commercial, Professional and Legal Directory for 1856 as 'Brokers, 69 Bourke Street West.'  John Hope notes that this address was most likely for a company office at 'the Hall of Commerce', as it does not appear to be associated with the activities of the business indicated on its tokens.

The dissolution of the partnership of Walter Wright Thrale and William Henry Cross, grocers, etc, trading as Thrale and Cross, was announced in the Victorian Government Gazette on 28 September 1855.
