Summary

Ticket of passage from Trieste to Melbourne issued to Julia Szuecs (later Julia Toth, she was widowed soon after) by Compagnia Genovese Di Armamento in 1957. Julia fled Hungary with her husband in 1956, they spent time in a displaced persons camp in Austria before migrating to Australia in 1957. Her husband passed away not long after their arrival and she married fellow Hungarian migrant Julius Toth.

Physical Description

Single leaf of paper, folded twice to produce a leaflet style ticket of passage. Text of document is printed in Italian language. Front page features a thin, red-line border around blue text and a graphic illustration of a red and blue flag with three stars across the top of the flag and an emblem of St George on horseback slaying a dragon. The first inner page is a double spread detailing passenger information, the page has a background rendered in blue ink with the St George emblem in the centre of the page; the text for the ticket is rendered in blue and red ink. The second page of the document is also a double spread, it lists the conditions of travel with the company. The back page of the document provides a country by country listing of agents authorised to sell tickets with the liner.
