Summary

Visa for traveling into Chile, issued to Australian Anthropologist Sir Walter Baldwin Spencer in Tierra del Fuego. This was to become his last expedition. He died on Hoste Island, only a few months after this was taken.

Identification paper. Single sheet pro forma with two pages of personal questions and physical particulars in Spanish; completed and signed in blue ink. Attached on the left hand side is a sepia toned small photographic portrait and below that are a complete set of fingerprints. Signed and dated. Stamped in a number of places. Handwritten annotations on reverse.
