Summary
Prototype circuit board used to test Charlwood Design's concept for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton. The baton has a number of different types of electronic functions, and to supply the necessary signals, the circuit boards are eight layers thick. The various layers control functions such as the LED lights on the front of the Baton, the web cameras mounted at the front and rear of the baton, and the recognition system for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags that provide the stimulus for the baton's many lighting effects.
Physical Description
A circuit board prototype for the Queen's Baton. Mounted on clear plastic. This pair of circuit boards, linked by wires, have been mounted on a perspex fillet for display purposes. The circuits have been attached to the perspex with fishing wire.
