Inscriptions
Hand written in blue ink: The Death of Phar Lap/ 1) Our dearly beloved Phar Lap's dead,/ Many there are, who tears will shed,/ Over those who loved him, it has cast quite a pall,/ For he was admired and loved by them all./ 2) The sad intelligence like lightning flew/ That one could scarcely believe it true/ Phar Lap's dead! and will not return/ For him we grieve, and our sad hearts yearn.
