Summary

This 415 volt AC electrical control board was installed in the South Engine Room in about 1923 as part of the replacement of the original Thompson steam pumps with electric pumps installed in the pumping wells. In 1923, pumping wells 3 & 4 received British-Thompson-Houston (BTH) 415 volt AC, Three-phase electric motors driving Kelly & Lewis centrifugal pumps. This equipment was positioned below ground in the wells.
