Summary

Colour poster titled 'Kodak Doubles the Fun', advertising photography and specifically Kodak film with the line 'It's Kodak Film that Makes the Picture'. This would have been sent to Kodak dealers and stores in the 1930s for display in their windows or counters. As this is very small, however, it may also have been a mock-up or draft copy for a larger in-store poster.

The 'Doubles the Fun' campaign theme had been used multiple times before in Kodak campaigns internationally, and it refers to the fun of events, as well as the fun of having a record of that event to relive. However, it also refers to the fun of photography itself.

The poster is held in a scrapbook compiled by Kodak Australasia. The scrapbook contains 37 colour, and black and white promotional leaflets, posters, stickers, negative and print envelopes, postal packaging for the Australian Photographic Review magazine, and trade circulars produced before World War Two.

This document is part of the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
