Summary

Scrapbook that was compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 8 archival items produced 1944 - 1945.

The archival items include war-time promotional clippings and colour adverts taken from The Australian Women's Weekly. The subjects of these clippings encourage the public to send photographs to family stationed overseas, warn of shortages of Kodak stock, advertise Kodak's contributions to documenting the war effort and the 'Airgraph', an invention by Kodak to transport letters overseas as film.

Advertising slogans include 'The photograph from home', 'Their Heroism shall live imperishably on...', and 'Serving humanity through photography.

All the advertising clippings were taken from The Australian Women's Weekly 1944 - 1945. Archival items from 1946 - 1947 were removed and placed in a new scrapbook according to notes on the front cover.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
