Summary
Receipt for the deposit of funds into the bank at Mayence, Hesse province, to be invested in the Imperial War Loan. The item was found with a small handwritten text label, which suggests it may have been previously displayed by the Museum. The text label reads:
" Translation of reverse side / Receipt / Account No. / Keep in Safe Place 3 and 4. has been paid into the bank at Mayence in the province of Hess, subject to the following conditions..."
Physical Description
Small paper certificate, printed, double sided in black ink with a pale blue wash. Illustrated with a finely detailed engraving of two soldiers holding a crown. The reverse is printed with a form, which has been completed with a handwritten text in black ink. Conditions listed in black print. Pin holes in each corner.
