Summary
Christmas card from Gamal Abdel Nasser, President of the United Arab Republic, to Monica Aron (later Gates), extending his best wishes for Christmas and the New Year, 1966. Monica Gates and then Egyptian President Gamal Nasser, first began corresponding in 1961 when Monica wrote a letter to Nasser requesting an Egyptian National Doll. Nasser's daughter was named Mona so he began to send Monica Christmas Cards yearly. Gamal Nasser was president of Egypt from 1956 until his death in 1970.
Physical Description
Printed colour card, with printed internal page. Front image depicts the pre-1972 coat of arms of the United Arab Republic with radiating golden lines and gold text. A colour postcard adhered to the interior page, featuring a photographic image of Cairo.
