Summary
Scrapbook that was compiled by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd. It contains approximately 68 archival items produced 1940-1945.
The archival items include advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include photographic film and papers, cameras and accessories, photographic film processing equipment, airgraph mail, and x-rays. Some of the advertisements relate to Kodak products, but others promote the use of photography during wartime to cheer on the men and women in service, majority of the advertisements apologise to professional and amateur photographers for the shortage of Kodak supplies as they are being spent on the fighting forces.
Advertising slogans include "If you have difficulty in obtaining Kodak Film for amateur use, remember that it is in ... the hospitals, at the war fronts, in the factories" and "Kodak film is in munitions" as well as "In every letter to the fighting forces include a Kodak snapshot."
Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
