Small booklet containing Annual Report and Financial Returns published by the Commissioners of the State Savings Bank of Victoria, incorporated under Act No.3777 and two separate and distinct departments: The State Savings Bank Department and The Credit Foncier Department, for the year ending 30th June 1939.

Page 3 - 7: Interest on Depositor's Accounts' (a) Pass-book accounts (on minimum monthly balance up to £1,000) - 2 per cent. per annum, (b) Deposit Stock (on daily balance up to £1,000) - 2½ per cent. per annum.
Page 4 - 9: School Banks number 2,781 compared with 2,767 at 30th June 1938; 391 are in the metropolitan area and 2,390 are in the country. Depositors number 200,888 and the amount at their credit is £293,229 - an average of £1/9/2 each.
Page 4 - 10: Service Department - Eight hundred and six Group Savings Clubs, with a total membership of 68,289, are established in factories and business houses to enable employees to make deposits on their respective pay days without having to visit the Bank. During the year 1,376,217 deposits amounting to £554,722/2/10 were made. The amount at credit of these depositors is £338,954/6/4.

Riversdale Road and Station Street, on 13th February, 1939; Abbotsford North, 255a Johnston Street, on 17th April, 1939.
Page 13 - 1: 'The Credit Foncier Department was established in 1896, under Act No.1481, for the purpose of granting long term loans to assist persons employed in agricultural, horticultural, viticultural and pastoral pursuits. In 1910, under Act No.2280, the authority to make advances was extended to include loans for the purchase and erection of dwellings and shops, and in 1920 was again extended, under Act No.3088, to include loans to persons of small means for the erection of their dwellings. Acts No.3098 in 1920 and No.3145 in 1921 authorized the Bank to make advances to country industries on the security of a mortgage over land, buildings, machinery and uncalled capital.'
