Summary
This slide forms part of a much larger collection of images from the life and career of Hope Macpherson Black. They document her famous research trips to Macquarie Island as part of the first team of women permitted to research in the Antarctic. Other images document her earlier expeditions around Australia and her wedding in 1965, which under the Marriage Bar at the time required her to resign her position at the peak of her career. Finally a number of images capture her latter career as a science teacher.
